Les Comptes d'Age
Blended from various years of distillation, these 5 year, 10 year and 15 year old Armagnacs reflect all that our beautiful eaux-de-vies offer as they age.
A 5 Years of Age, which proposes the youth of an eau-de-vie to be tamed, intense, fruity and slightly marked by wood.
A 10 Years of Age, which enters in maturity, marrying intensity and finesse.
A 15 Years of Age, presenting all the qualities of the great Armagnacs, intense, racy, round, powerful.
Armagnac
XO and Out of Age
The Armagnac XO
The trade name XO (which in English means extra old - very old) is composed of Armagnacs that have aged for at least 10 years.
The XO, which is very popular abroad, is less well known in France, where it will nevertheless delight those who love elegant, rich and smooth brandies. Discover it with foie gras bites, sweet mignardises or as a digestive...
The Out of Age
More than 10 years. This is the minimum legal age for the youngest eau-de-vie entering into the blending of an Armagnac Hors d'Âge. Very often this minimum is older. The average age is always older.
Hors d'Âge is the blend par excellence. We find there the heart of the aromas of the Armagnac with a palette of candied fruits (prune, apricot, orange peel) associated with the woody aromas totally melted. Sometimes the pastry and spicy aromas add delicacy to the whole. Often, the nuances of rancio and dried fruit attest to the maturity of the blend. On the palate, one finds balance, length and controlled warmth.
It is a brandy of pleasure that is enjoyed at the table with a dessert, shared with friends in the afternoon, which accompanies a cigar in the evening ...
As a general rule, old Armagnacs go very well with guinea fowl with fruit, duck breast with honey, omelette with ceps...or with fruit-based desserts: tarte tatin, pear charlotte, candied oranges...and chocolate-based desserts: black forest, chocolate mousse...
The vineyard of the Domaine Saint-Lannes, which takes its name from the nearby Romanesque Chapel of the 12th century, is located on the magnificent clay-limestone soils of the Ténarèze.
Surrounded by quarries whose limestone outcrops in places, the Domaine Saint-Lannes produces rich, concentrated wines, very marked by an undeniable "terroir" effect and an outstanding typicity.
